This month, Jordan Ward hit The Loft @ Center Stage in ATL for a sold-out tour stop on his Apartment Tour. With a performance that radiated hangout vibes from the mix of live instrumental jams and DJ tracks, Ward’s journey into his 2026 record, BACKWARD, fed fans with a laid-back night of music. Here are 3 takeaways from my time at The Loft this March.

1) What I Saw: Bringing the Crowd into “The Apartment”

From the moment that he stepped out on stage, the audience was immediately welcomed into the day in the life of Jordan Ward. The singer and his backing band opened the door for the deeply connected room. Through their love for his lyrics, Atlanta found themselves a part of Ward’s world (complete with improvisational banter in the middle of verses and a smoke sesh that turned the intimate venue into a hotbox).

2) What I Heard: Smooth Sonics in a Stacked Setlist

In Ward’s 20+ song performance, he ran through all of BACKWARD alongside a solid compilation of tracks from other records such as 2023’s FORWARD. One note about this setlist was that nearly every song seamlessly moved into the next without missing a beat. Curating these tracks in a perfect order to keep the crowd’s attention and let the artists have fun each night is no easy task. Luckily, Jordan Ward and co. knew how to balance it for a hit-after-hit concert.

3) What I Felt: Everyone’s Invited to the Party

Looking around The Loft @ Center Stage into the tightly-packed audience, anyone could notice the different backgrounds and unique atmosphere contained in this space. With an official after-party already set up, the show felt like a small moment of something larger. The Apartment Tour was only part of the plan Jordan Ward laid out for this new vibe. It was clear that everyone had already been on a journey with the artist, and this night in ATL was just another step towards the full vision of BACKWARD and Ward’s world as a whole.

In the end, this latest tour proved successful for Jordan Ward and his band. It’s not every night that you can have hundreds of strangers in your “Apartment” for a memorable, chill evening of relaxing yet energetic R&B grooves, but this show totally nailed it.
