With jazzy melodies and hypnotic vocals, Hiatus Kaiyote serenaded Atlanta on a beautiful Saturday evening at The Eastern. Lead singer of the band, Nai Palm, delivered an energetic and engaging performance for the thousands in attendance. Her vocals ranged from smooth and soulful to commanding and captivating. Certain moments of the show even saw her play funky guitar riffs which complemented her singing quite well.

While the vocals are stellar, the instrumental aspects of Hiatus Kaiyote are what take it to the next level. Every member has a moment to shine. Whether it's Perrin Moss' drums or Paul Bender's bass (happy birthday!), the audience found something new to cheer for with every song performed. I want to also highlight the synth player, Simon Mavin, and the trio of backup singers on stage--those four performers were consistently adding new elements to the tracks that helped differentiate the concert experience from their albums.

The band brought in a packed crowd full of those from all different ages, backgrounds, and even some from out of state. Talking to fans before the show, it was many's second, third, or even fifth Hiatus Kaiyote concert. Seeing those young and old engage with not only the main act, but backup singer Silent Jay's DJ set was a sight to behold. This serves as a testament to the band's timeless sound that can unify people from across the globe to hear music that sounds inspired.
