The California artist invites fans at Terminal West into a reflective experience

This past Monday night, I had the privilege of attending zzzahara’s show at Terminal West in Atlanta. All the way from Highland Park, California, zzzahara made a stop in our city and brought along a taste of their upcoming album Distant Lands, releasing June 5th. When I entered the venue, I wasn’t sure what to expect, as I had very limited knowledge of the young artist’s work since their debut in 2022. By the time it was over, I was in a trance that nearly made me forget I wasn’t a career-long fan.Â

As soon as they took the stage, the audience and I were captivated by an indie sound that carries a piece of zzzahara with every note. Both lyrically and sonically, a story is told, a story with themes and feelings of romance, melancholy, and the struggles of a difficult youth many can find relatable. The type of show where even though you stand in the audience, you feel like you are being heard and seen. zzzahara’s music fills the room with calming air that invites you to listen and insists you reflect on your past and how it influences the person you are today. I am filled with anticipation for what the West Coast talent has in store for us for years to come.
